Life is so damn stressful.
Actually, at this point in time I am quite relaxed. For the first time in six weeks. Ever since I started school it has been ridiculously frustrating. Can you imagine feeling stupid all the time? Lol. I personally hate feeling stupid because I feel I am fairly intelligent. My school definitely does a good job of making you feel inferior though. I wanted to quit so many times in the past two weeks. The week before last I was having to catch up in two classes I was a month behind in because I changed part of my schedule. I had to do this on top of a Chemistry test, Physics test, and a East Asian History Midterm. And catching up in the two classes involved making up a Computer Science quiz and taking a Precalc Midterm. I hate school! That week killed me. I ended up losing about 8 pounds that week and sleeping about 20 hours the whole week.
This past week was somewhat easier but always still stressful. We had another Chem and Physics test. I seriously considered calling home Monday and just having my mom come check me out so I could quit and go home. But I figured I'd wait the week out and see what happened. Here's what happened, in highlights.
- I got a 93 on my first Physics test, the highest in the class, and I set the curve.
- I got a 94 on my Chemistry test.
- I got an 81 on my Precalc Midterm.
- I got an 88 on my East Asian History Midterm.
- I got a 91 on my Computer Science test.
When I got all these grades back.. I was like... wow. All the studying actually paid off. I couldn't believe it. The school I go to is the hardest high school in the nation based on its curriculum, and I seriously just made A's and B's on some major test. I thought it was a joke. 6 weeks grades came out this past Thursday though, and I had 5 A's and 3 B's. I never thought I could actually succeed. So, needless to say, even though I have huge bags under my eyes, I'm stressed 90% of the time, and I'm the skinniest I've been in years -- NO WAY I'M QUITTING. This could get me into a really good college. My list right now is Duke, Stanford, Columbia, and fallbacks OU and OSU, mainly because they're in state.
I'm really enjoying this weekend off. We have an extended, meaning I got out of class early yesterday and I'm not having to go back until Monday evening. So I'm about to have lunch with my best friend and spend the day reading The Other Boleyn Girl. Terribly exciting. Ooh! In another exciting news, I got a new laptop. I'm typing on it :) It took me about 3 hours to get all my music on it last night, but so worth it. It's beautiful.
Monday I'm going to get some community service hours and then it's off to my old school. I really want to thank a couple of my teachers and see some old friends. And brag about my grades. :p Just kidding. Well, maybe just a little bit. Now I just hope they hold up! Probably not.
I hope everyone is having an equally productive and rewarding life.
